Sometimes we all make decisions that we look back on down the track and perhaps wish we had not made. One thing that I have come to learn is that it is better to make a poor decision than to make no decision at all.
When we go through life without making decisions and just let life kind of happen to us we tend to accept all of the negative things that go along with it. Very rarely do you hear tales of how someone was just sitting around and good fortune just came their way. It is usually through getting out there and doing something…anything…good, bad or otherwise that we create what it is that we are after.
So many people in this world lock themselves into what others think/feel is the right thing for them to be doing rather than spreading their wings and taking a good hard shot at life. Keep in mind that you can’t hit the target if you fail to look down the barrel. Most of the truly successful people in this world got to where they are in life by taking a chance, following their dreams, sticking to their goals and persisting. For those people that coast along doing the same thing over and over for years on end they get what they are focused on; doing the same thing over and over for years ending up with the same results.
Albert Einstein once said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. This definition would suggest that the vast majority of the global population is insane. Most people wake up in the same bed, brush teeth the same way, brush hair the same way, drive the same car to work the same way they always go to get there to the same job, starting at the same time and finishing at the same time each day etc, etc, etc… All the while wondering why things never change.
A really simple statement that I live by is, “If you want something that you’ve never had before you need to do something you’ve never done before.”
Food for thought?!
Just a though.
